vonage forums

archives No Comments »

you know, it’s become more common to hear about friends, co-workers and blog friends cancelling their traditional land line phone service and switching completely over to VOIP. providers like vonage and lingo are becoming more reliable and folks are hearing about it and signing up. there’s a great forum-based website for users of vonage (as well as folks that are interested in VOIP) titled *what else?* vonage forums. the site is loaded with the latest news, information and reviews related to Vonage and VOIP. the discussion forums are pretty useful in getting solutions on various problems that may occur and tips on getting the most out of VOIP in general. for those of you that are still trying to decide if they want to go this route, be sure to check out the reviews section of the website. you’ll find helpful links to various reviews posted by normal everyday users of vonage so that you can get a feel of how folks at large think about the service. one reviewer even conveniently lists out the pros and cons of the service for prospective users to consider. interesting to note that the site is user-based and not associated with vonage at all. and since the site is independent, you can rest easy in knowing the posts and reviews aren’t biased. so if you’re are just about ready to join the VOIP revolution be sure to check vonage forums out.

rethinking my credit card usage..

archives No Comments »

i’ve been trying to get a handle on our credit card usage lately. we currently have three and i’ve been looking into somehow reducing it all to just one. with multiple cards, it’s just so tempting to purchases various items on different cards to somehow fool yourself into thinking that you’re not spending as much as you are. but it’s a dangerous game and it can all come crashing down on you if you are not to careful. we all lose our self control every now and again so that’s why it might be in my best interest to get rid of some of my excess cards and just carry around one real good one. you know it’s so easy to get credit cards nowadays. we are all constantly receiving pre-approved credit card applications in the mail with low intro rates and enticing bonus reward gifts. with all these different types of offers being thrown at you sometimes it’s a bit difficult to figure out what’s right for you. with all this confusion with rates, fees and hidden restrictions, banks may end up taking advantage of folks that don’t know any better. I know i’ll be taking some time to research the best deals on the web. since i’m trying to reduce the number of cards, i’ll be looking for a low interest card with 0% balance transfers. there are some 0% credit cards that i’ve been meaning to look into as well. once i find the right card that can handle my existing balances and give me a low (or even zero) APR, i’ll be able to get rid of my other cards and just live with the one. but for now the search continues…

IE 7

you know, i didn’t expect to like the recently released version of IE but i have to say it’s not that bad (for a microsoft product, heh). they’ve taken a lot of what i like about firefox and incorporated the features into IE like tabbed browsing and RSS feeds. but the main thing that i’m liking is their clear type feature that makes the text of webpages a lot more readable and pleasing to the eye. surprisingly a positive from the corporate giant microsoft. i’ll definitely use it a bit more on my laptop just for the clear type fonts. read more about the browser here.

for the love of PPP…

there are a slew of imitators that are cropping up on the net now but folks need to know that PayPerPost was the first in making consumer generated advertising a success. they are the originators and i’m happy to stick with them. besides the friendly community of bloggers the one thing that i love about payperpost (…OK, besides the obvious aspect of getting paid by them..) is the variety of opportunities they offer. i always enjoy the challenge of writing about different subjects and there always seems to be a good mix of categories of offers available through payperpost. some recent opportunities that i recall include: home repair, ACC football, drag racing, vacationing in spain and voice over work. as you can see the topics can be very diverse. from what i observed in the four or so months i’ve blogged for them, i can honestly say that they are very professional, continually evolving, open to feedback/suggestions and are always on time with payments. i hope to continue blogging for them for as long as i possibly can. if you want more info, please head on over to payperpost.com.

one of the sites that i visit on a daily basis is the PayPerPost discussion board. well, you sorta have to in order to keep up with the latest goings-on in the world of payperpost and the active community of bloggers. there’s always something new and exciting being talked about in the forums and if you don’t visit everyday, the list of new posts gets a bit too long.  besides the latest news, members provide helpful blogging and web design tips as well as feedback on some of the opportunities offered through payperpost.  so, if you’re a payperpost blogger or thinking of becoming one, the discussion board is a *must* read.

Ted, The Silly

ugh. the flu bug is making it’s way through the DLee household and after going thru two kids and a wife, i’ve finally succumb to the bug. fortunately i got vaccinated a couple weeks ago and i guess that’s why i don’t feel the full-on effects of the virus. i just feel a bit stuffy with slight body aches and a headache. the bug plus me makes *not* a happy camper. but something did stop me from whining about the flu this evening. ..well, for a brief moment at least. it’s a youtube video of Ted (Mr. payperpost) doing an impression of a catfish. the guy claims to be Antonio: Master Impressionist with some sort of half-italian half-pirate accent going on but we all know that’s Ted. as for the impression… you’ll just have to see for yourself. online loans …with a twist

archives No Comments »

we’ve all heard about peer-to-peer networks on the internet for years, right? well, now a company has taken the concept and gone a bit further with it that will revolutionize money lending and borrowing. the system is called ZOPA which stands for Zone of Possible Agreement.  essentially folks can obtain online loans from other members of the network which basically cuts out a need for banks altogether. borrowers are rated by risk level and credit-checked and receive great interest rates which are lower than what you can get from a traditional bank. and for the lenders, they receive a higher return by cutting out the middle-men (the bank). it’s a very exciting and new concept that is going over big in the U.K. the company is planning on bringing over the concept to the U.S. very soon so be on the lookout for the launch!!

consumers beware!

wow, watching the latest troubles in the housing market can really bum a guy out, ya know? it’s sad but due to the declining market i think it’s even more likely now that mortgage lenders will try to make up some of the losses by slipping in extra fees and such into all that paperwork signing mayhem that goes on during closing. nowadays you have to be very keen eyed and informed before signing anything. before getting in too deep with a mortgage loan that you’re not all too sure about take a moment to check out personalhomeloanmortgages.com. the consumer oriented site will help you learn about the ins and outs of borrowing intelligently. the site also gives you tips on how to spot and avoid mortgage fraud and data abuse. now more than ever, it is important that consumers protect themselves by being fully informed in matters such as these!
